No, I don’t have a secret source that reveals to me the ultimate decisions 18-year-old high school kids will make regarding the next four years of their lives.

To decide at which campus these bright-eyed youngsters will play their collegiate football is actually a big decision for these easily influenced youngsters. Anyone who follows recruiting understands that.

Factor in coaches who are spieling identical truths to hundreds of other recruits one minute after they just told one recruit the same thing, and that decision becomes harder to make.

After all, the decision these athletes make at 18could affect their future immensely.

A wrong choice could wash out a once-promising hope of NFL stardom. The right choice could elevate draft potential almost overnight.

All this to say, when the smoke clears on National Signing Day, I believe USC will lasso in many of the nation’s elite recruits and wind up with a top five recruiting class.

Is this an ambitious prediction? Absolutely. I’ll give you that. Is it wishful thinking? I’ll hand that one over to you uncontestedly, too. Will you think I am totally out to lunch? Probably.

Nevertheless, here are the whos and the whys.
