Since Will Muschamp was hired at Florida, the program has seen 11 players leave. Attrition is common in these situations, and the reason for each departure is different. In some, it was discipline (i.e. Janoris Jenkins). In others, players wanted to be closer to family (Javares McRoy, Josh Shaw). And many others left for an assortment of reasons.
Now, a year since Muschamp was hired, most have landed at other schools. Here’s a look at where the players tranferred. In the case of the six who transferred before the season, most sat out this year per NCAA transfer rules. Jenkins played at Northern Alabama, where he was a second-team Associated Press Little All-American for the Division II school.
A few other notes on the list:
– LB Chris Martin briefly transferred to Navarro College but left the school. He told Orlando Sentinel correspondent Tom Green that he was leaving to be closer to his ailing mother. It’s unclear where Martin transferred to, but any program he joined would be his fourth since high school.
– LB Dee Finley and DE Lynden Trail will be eligible to play immediately at their new schools. Finley tweeted that he has transferred to Tuskegee University, a Division II school. A Norfolk State spokesman confirmed Wednesday that Trail has enrolled there, and he can play immediately because it is an FCS school.
